The primary reason is the nature of the Intaglio process, which involves engraving or etching an image onto a hard surface, such as metal, and then applying ink into the incised lines. This process is not compatible with the flexible and stretchy nature of Lycra.

Is Intaglio Printing Technique on Lycra Advised?

Given the incompatibility of the Intaglio printing technique with Lycra, it is not advised to use this method for this particular material. The elasticity of Lycra can distort the printed image, leading to unsatisfactory results. Both these techniques are more compatible with Lycra's unique properties, making them better alternatives to Intaglio.
